To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I am trying to zooming in and out via pinch-to-zoom or via double-tapping , but on Apple TV, the picture is still the same. I don’t understand; mirroring should.. I am not sure if it’s just terribly lacking feature or a problem with my particular setup.

Posted on Jun 24, AM. Page content loaded. You can’t mirror photos from your iPad. If you notice carefully when you move from say a photo sheet to an individual photo, the airplay mode changes to basic airplay.

Jun 24, AM. We can mirror videos, applications, games and so on, but not the most basic and logical content – photos? We can’t focus on details?

Well, that’s interesting. I guess, that in this case, it might be very well the false advertining.. Zoom in and out and pause for applause “. I suspect it drops out of mirroring mode to let you see photos full screen. You couldn’t have it both ways.

But why? There is no point.. I tap on screen once and have “menu”, I tap once again and have it “full-screen”. I swipe to another picture or pinch to zoom. Why Apple TV can’t mirror this and “drops out of mirroring mode” – and how could I prevent it?

No you can’t, a photo will display either with black bars at the top and bottom or the sides cut off, your iPad is Is there a way how to mirror photos with all interactivity, eg. I find it curious that you can mirror almost everything, but photos just “switch” to some kind of restricted full-screen only mode.. But they bother other people who don’t want to see their photos with black bars on all sides as tiny photos on a big screen.

As I said it’s one or the other you can’t have both. If you want to zoom in on photos, put them on the web with iPhoto journal or whichever tool you want to use and view them via Safari. Well, it’s not quite true, because picture on screen is not “tiny” at least height is the same, just black bars on sides – but at the same time, Apple TV “switch” to “full-screen” influence the picture nonetheless, because photos are not , so instead of black bars it just crops top and bottom..

But of course, I’d have nothing against this behavior if I had the choice like you mentioned As I said it’s one or the other you can’t have both.

For instance a switch between “mirroring” or “forced full screen”. But as far as I know, it’s not possible to have it one way or the other, just the other..

Rudegar: Yep, I’ve sent them the feedback and contacted the support as well. I just wanted to make sure if it is really a “proper behavior” or just a problem with my device. Sadly, it seem to be “feature”. Firstly the iPad would place black bars top and bottom to make the photo fit on it’s screen, it would then mirror that to the TV black bars included and because the iPad screen is , black bars would then be placed at each side.

Apr 2, AM. Jul 11, AM. For myself anyway. I bought Apple TV and was very disappointed when I could not pinch to zoom photos. It seems that when you go to “Photos” the iPhone is taken out of mirroring mode and into streaming mode.

Here is how I solved the problem:. While viewing the photo on the iPhone I swiped up from the bottom of the screen to click on Airplay and turn on “Mirroring” again. Then the iPhone goes back to Mirror mode and I slid the control center menu back down to where I could see my photo again and I could pinch to zoom and it would duplicate it on the TV screen.

I could switch photos with left to right gestures and pinch to zoom on any of the photos! Now it is perfect for presentations or showing details on photos without any extra software.

Oct 14, AM. I just saw Rictrajano’s youtube video after I made my post. He posted a very similar solution as mine in his youtube video around the mark. Community Get Support. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate.

Yes you can do all that, just not using the photo/iphoto app. I suspect it drops out of mirroring mode to let you see photos full screen. Use the Photos app on Apple TV to view your iCloud Memories, Photos, and Shared Albums; turn on access to iCloud services to get started.
